For this research job I oversaw the social impact that the departments at UFV and the funding’s that each department needed. Through this research job of gathering information from these department heads. My boss Mr. Gary Ferr, then took this information that I imported into the excel spreadsheet and made a paper to explain to the locals where their tax money is going. With this job, I oversaw emailing all the department heads and deans to set up an appointment, or to create a meeting so that I can discuss the financial activities needed, the physical spaces they need, the spaces they rent, the relationships they pair up with, and their future research mandates. This job required good time management, organizational tools, listening to detail, and good notetaking, which are all essential skills to have when becoming a teacher. The reason for getting this job through UFV was because my human geography teacher knew that I had a good work ethic and that I ask plenty of questions when I am unsure of a task or concept. He specifically told me that too, because I do ask lots of questions in class that he thought that I would be the perfect candidate for this job. Knowing that if there is confusion at any point that I would reach out to him or his assistant if I needed any help, or if I had any confusion with this job. I am very grateful for this opportunity to arise, because not only did Mr. Ferr trust me with a big job like this but also because I was able to learn more about myself and was able to gain further knowledge about the social impact that occurs in each department. By building relationships with professors, deans, and departments heads, I found that this job also helped with my confidence as I was forced to communicate and question these professors. Through this job, I can confidently say that it has helped me develop essential skills such as notetaking, relationship building, time management skills, organizational strategies, and good listening skills that will help me become a better human and an even better teacher.

I was in charge of scheduling and preparing a meeting for all the department heads at UFV to discuss questions relating social impact.
