W.J Mouat Highschool helped shape me into the person I am today. The teachers and students were all so welcoming since the first day of grade 9. When I was In Middle school, I was always known to be shy child, therefore, I spent most of my time with one friend the entire three years in Middle School. When the two middle schools Chief Dan George and Gordie Howe were joined together with their branching school W.J Mouat Secondary School, this was the time when it really pushed me out of my comfort zone as I tried to become more social. Throughout my experiences in high school, I really pushed myself in every aspect that I could both socially and academically. With the efforts I put in, I have been rewarded with achievements of being on both the academic and effort honor roll throughout the four years of enrollment at W.J Mouat Secondary School. High school was such an important part of my life with all the growing up and maturing that I got to do within those years; and the self-learning/ self-directed opportunities. Through this development of becoming a more social, independent, and experienced student, I hope that I can develop good relationships with my students when I become a teacher too. I now understand the importance of building strong connections with your students because I know that those teachers that you enjoy and who shows respect to you makes you excited to be in their class, which makes you become more engaged with the material they are teaching you. Overall, I could not be more blessed and thankful for the teachers and friends I had in high-school, and the relationships I built when I was there.
